Automotive Service Advisor (Spragge)

Job Description
The Algoma Chrysler, Spragge location is seeking an outgoing and highly motivated Automotive Service Advisor to create lasting first impressions and guide customers through their vehicles' maintenance scheduling and repair process.

The successful candidate should be a great listener and a master at executing all the service processes with due diligence and customer service in mind. The service advisor should build strong relationships with customers to achieve service targets and utilize the tools provided to ensure customers will return to the dealership. They will uphold Algoma Chrysler's standards and values so that the customer is fully satisfied through every interaction with the service department.

Job Type
Permanent; Full-Time

Hours
Monday - Friday, 8 am to 5 pm

Responsibilities

  • Welcoming customers to the dealership and discussing their needs
  • Answering customer inquiries, either in person or over the phone
  • Schedule Service Appointments using the dealership booking system
  • Estimating the cost and time needed for a wide range of repairs
  • Prepare repair orders by detailing the vehicle's problems or symptoms
  • Ensuring timely completion of service appointments
  • Advising and selling required services based on dealer and manufacturer recommendations
  • Reviewing repair requirements and recommendations with customers

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Superior customer service skills to handle customer complaints and questions effectively
  • Critical thinking, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills to perform the job successfully
  • The ability to interpret technical terms to customers is considered an asset
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid Drivers License
  • The ability to operate vehicles with a manual transmission is regarded as an asset

Experience

  • 1+ years in customer service is preferred
  • 1+ year working in the Automotive Industry is considered an asset

As an automotive technician at Algoma Chrysler, you will play a crucial role in customer experience by conducting diagnostic procedures to determine vehicle maintenance requirements & providing accurate repair recommendations to customers. Retired technicians are welcome to apply for part-time hours.

To succeed in this role, you should be physically and mentally fit and have a solid knowledge of basic mechanics' tools, services, and diagnostic equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, with excellent communication and customer service skills.

Hours
Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm

Responsibilities

  • Review work orders and discuss work with the Service Manager (if applicable)
  • Inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicle, and test automotive systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults
  • Perform routine automotive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems, including fuel system, brakes, steering and suspension, engine and drive train, emission control and exhaust, cooling and climate control, and electrical and electronic systems, using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to the manufacturer's performance specifications
  • Advise customers on work performed, general vehicle condition, and future repair requirements if necessary

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Automotive repair
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems, components, and repair techniques
  • Critical thinking, attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills to perform repairs successfully
  • The ability to interpret technical terms to customers is considered an asset
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Able to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid Drivers License
  • The ability to operate vehicles with a manual transmission is regarded as an asset

Experience

  • A provincially recognized Journey Person Automotive Mechanic Certificate (Preferred but not required)
  • A Red Seal License is considered an asset
  • 1 + years of experience in Automotive Repair is considered an asset
  • 3+ years working in the Automotive Industry is preferred but not required

Financial Controller

Job Description:

Algoma Chrysler is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented dealership controller to oversee our financial operations, drive profitability, and ensure compliance with industry standards. This high-impact role requires expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and cash management to support the dealership’s continued growth.

While an accounting designation is not required, we are looking for individuals with a strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.

Job Type:

Permanent; Full-Time

Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm with availability to work after hours

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Oversee all dealership accounting and bookkeeping activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, profit-and-loss reports, and cash flow statements.
  • Reconcile accounts monthly and conduct financial analyses to support business decisions.

Regulatory Compliance & Internal Controls:

  • Manage and prepare payroll, account payables & receivables, and fixed assets while maintaining financial records.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to protect dealership assets and prevent fraud.

Strategic Planning & Business Support:

  • Provide financial insights to department managers to improve sales, service, and parts operations.
  • Work closely with dealership leadership to optimize profitability and efficiency.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Promote continuous improvement and best practices in financial management.
  • Support hiring and personnel management and various HR responsibilities.

Operational & Administrative Duties:

  • Handle high-value transactions and multiple financial processes simultaneously.
  • Maintain dealership filing systems for financial and administrative records.
  • Work with various financial and office systems, including payroll and reporting tools.
  • Provide the Dealer Principal with financial insights to support informed decision-making

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to work with programs such as Excel and Word
  • Willing to work with technology and learn Dealership Management System (DMS)
  • Team-oriented and able to work well with Parts, Service, and Sales personnel at all 4 dealership locations
  • Excellent multi-tasker and independent thinker
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized
  • Prior Automotive Accounting experience is considered an asset 
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid G driver’s license

Experience:

  • CPA designation preferred but not required
  • Must have a strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Prior experience in a bookkeeping/accounting role is required
